How Tire Pressure Monitoring Devices Work

The tire pressure monitoring equipment can monitor the tire pressure in real time, and when an abnormality occurs, it will give an alarm to remind the driver to ensure driving safety. The tire pressure monitoring equipment of some models needs to set a normal value, and it takes a period of time to collect it. Even if there is tire pressure monitoring equipment, it cannot be fully relied on, and regular manual inspection and approval of tires is still required.

No matter how excellent the performance of your car is, it must be brought out from the ground where the tires touch the ground. Insufficient tire pressure will lead to fuel consumption, accelerate tire wear and reduce service life. Excessive tire pressure will affect tire grip and comfort. So be careful with your tires. It has been shown that the lack of tire pressure is the main reason among all the factors that can cause a tire blowout, and the accidents caused by a tire blowout account for a very high proportion of vicious traffic accidents. Therefore, it is very necessary to check the tires and other components before going out. Tire pressure monitoring equipment can be installed later, and even some GPS navigation products or mobile phone software can also cooperate with this function. When the tire pressure is abnormal, the warning light will light up on the instrument to remind the driver.

There are three types of tire pressure detection systems. One is direct tire pressure monitoring, and the other is direct tire pressure monitoring. There is also a composite tire pressure monitoring system.

The direct tire pressure monitoring equipment uses the pressure sensor installed in each tire to directly measure the air pressure of the tire, uses the wireless transmitter to send the pressure information from the inside of the tire to the central receiver module, and then displays the tire pressure data . When the tire pressure is too low or leaks, the system will automatically alarm.

The cost of the direct tire pressure monitoring equipment is much lower than that of the direct type. In fact, it uses the speed sensor on the car’s ABS braking system to compare the number of rotations of the four tires. The number of rotations will be different from other tires. So this function can be completed only by upgrading the software of the ABS system. But there are some problems with this direct tire pressure monitoring. Most direct tire pressure monitoring equipment cannot point out which tire is abnormal. If four tires produce insufficient tire pressure together, they will also fail. Moreover, when encountering conditions such as ice, snow, sand, and many curves, the difference in tire speed will be large, and of course the tire pressure monitoring will also lose its effect.

There is also a composite tire pressure monitoring device, which is equipped with direct sensors in two mutually diagonal tires, and cooperates with 4-wheel direct tire pressure monitoring, which can reduce costs and eliminate the inability of direct tire pressure monitoring equipment to detect There is a shortcoming of abnormal air pressure in multiple tires.
